At Primary 3 & 4, students are beginning to find a voice in their writing. In our A* Writing Lab programme, our students are taught more writing skills & techniques, and their vocabulary further enriched, so that their writing becomes more vivid and comes alive.

This weekly writing programme encourages students to move out of their comfort zone and experiment with their writing. The mark of any A* student writer lies in his / her ability to breathe life into the story plots and characters. This is a function of a students’ vocabulary, as well as ability to write varied sentences in a creative way.

Our mind-stretching A* Writing Lab programme aims to help our students:

• Practise applying writing skills and techniques effectively

• Edit writing for clarity, effectiveness and interest value

• Brainstorm for good and relevant ideas that address specific task requirements

• Learn to use and adapt vivid vocabulary and phrases to achieve specific purposes and effects

• Analyse and model after good pieces of writing / Mind-Stretching model compositions to reinforce learning
